Country Club Estates
CITIZENS ON PATROL

Citizens on Patrol also known as Citizen Patrol or C.O.P. for short are organized groups of citizens who volunteer their time to patrol their communities.  To date there are approximately over 100 groups patrolling communities in Baltimore County.  Some members use their own vehicles with flexible magnetic car signs that identify them as part of their local COP team.

COP patrols are observers only. They are simply an extension of the police department’s eyes and ears.  They may drive, bike or walk around the community looking and listening.  They report criminal and suspicious activity, or needs for emergency assistance, to the police. They are not vigilantes. They do not carry weapons, or confront persons engaged in criminal or suspicious activity.

The more patrols that are in each community, the safer the community should become in general with everyone being observant of what is going on and what is out of the ordinary.

Again, this can be done via driving around the community in your vehicle, on a bicycle, walking or from your home.
